Finally my first Vidiscript Templates is now ready for public consumption. After a month of working on this template on my free time it’s all paid off. This is a not so good news for all loyal Windows XP user or somebody who hate to use Windows Vista. If you think getting away from Vista is your reason for keep coming back to XP, well think again. As of june 30, Microsoft has pulled the plug on the retail life of the windows XP OS, but like a zombie that just refuses to go on, XP will still be continue walking in the face of the earth and will be offered to OEM manufacturers through January 31, 2009.
According to Dell, Microsoft is mandating that XP downgrades occur only on enterprise, bussiness and gaming machines for the privilege, Dell will tack on an additional $20 fee to the price of the system. Microsoft denies the allegations, insisting that anyone with Windows Vista Bussiness or Ultimate is eligible for the the downgrade. Microsoft also maintains that it is not forcing retailers to limit consumer’s options for downgrading based on system builds.
It was two weeks now since I start working on my Vidiscript templates on my free time, if you don’t know about Vidiscript, it’s a free script for creating your own YouTube clone website. It’s actually a free script but some find it intimidating since you need to enter first your email and sign-up and then they will send you the link to where you can find the download area. But this was a really cool script, they are still in Beta version for now but in a month they will going to release the full version and enjoy the power of this script.
Let’s go back to my template, I actually find their free templates which included in the script package quite a bit out of my theme so I decided to create one that will suit to my site theme which is a video site for all Filipino rock music video. And since their is no free templates other than the two default templates I decided to give away my template that I created which I think a good investment not just to promote my site but also to be in the vidiscript community. The only thing that I really want to create on my templates which giving me a hard time is to create something like a real YouTube with “Video watching right now script” and to put at least my link to my site at the footer. The templates use a modules templates which I’m still in a process of learning and doing some workaround about it and mapping out where all those modules connected to each other and what languages vidiscript are using, so far what I can do is to modify the images, add some images and modify the style.css.
This post is just an intro for now, I’m going for a camping right now. So just a quick info from me what’s going on and what’s ahead for modpinoy.
